Hello, everyone. I usually go by 'Moono' in Computerland. At this point, there's no real theme to my blog, but drums, recording gear, computer gear, sports uniforms, ponies on occasion, and a lot of cute are reoccurring themes. If you want to learn more about me, then hover over the drumming gif to the right of your screen (assuming you're on a desktop/laptop), or click here.
And to the powers that-be that set all of this in motion… when you eventually leave this realm, and you’re standing at the gates of whatever Hell looks like to you (probably a world where people are treated like actual human beings, regardless of what walk of life they hail from), be sure to apologize to Satan on the behalf of me, and every user you betrayed for the inconvenience.
The plan for the 17th, when the adult content ban comes in, is to protest.
To do that, we are making as much noise either side of the 17th as possible, and using the site as normal.
On the 17th, dead silence.
People are saying log off but what they really mean is don’t open the site or the app.
But, on the 17th make as much noise as possible on every other platform. Tweet about it and post on facebook and instagram and everywhere else.
What this does is causes a massive dip in ad revenue for one single day. That does not make staff think ‘oh everyone’s gone let’s shut down.’ What it actually makes them think is ‘oh shit people aren’t happy and if people don’t keep using our site we’re out of money and out of jobs.’
A boycott reminds a company that the users (consumers) have the power to make their site (business) worthless with one single coordinated decision.
If you want to join in, here’s what to do:
Do:
Close all open instances of the app and site on all your devices before the 17th
Make posts before and after the 17th on tumblr and other platforms, talking about why this ban is bad
Make posts on other sites during the 17th. Flood the official tumblr staff twitter and facebook with your anger and your opinion
Come back on the 18th and check in
Don’t:
Delete the app from your phone (this doesn’t affect their revenue and since it’s off the store at the moment it’ll be hard to get back)
Delete your account. I mean you can if you want to, but if you keep your account and don’t use it you’re saying to staff that there’s still time to save it. If you delete it’s hard work to come back.
Open the app or website (including specific blogs)
Make any posts (turn down/off your queue and make sure nothing is scheduled)
Go quiet elsewhere. Make it clear that this is just about tumblr, not a mass move away from all social media.
Remember: the execs don’t care about anything but money. Shutting down the site means there’s $0 further income from it. That’s their last possible course of action. If we make it clear we’re not happy, they’ll have to do something or we can do more and more until it becomes too expensive.
Protests take commitment. They’re a defiant action against a business that is doing something wrong. They will try to scare you into not participating, because they’re scared. We hold all the power here, sometimes the execs just need to be reminded of that.
I’m not active on this account anymore at all due to personal life issues but this deserves to be reblogged
had an argument with some friends about if mr. mime fucks. they were all very wrong, so i got the idea of making an advertising campaign to spread awareness of the truth. anyway here is the magazine ad for the Mr. Mime Does Not Fuck campaign, featured in Teen Magazeen December 2018
You know what, all I’m gonna say on this tumblr nsfw crackdown is this: It’s really interesting how @staff was able to suddenly construct this whole system to flag posts & delete artistic nudes & nsfw art with absolutely NO trouble as soon as the app stores got pissed and took away a source of their income but yet for the last however many years, they couldn’t be fucked to design a system to take care of the porn bots, child pornography, racist, & nazi shit which which started this whole mess to begin with. So now because of THEIR laziness and THEIR lack of fucks given previously, users have to be punished for posting their usual content -and no, I’m not talking specifically about porn. Not to mention artists especially have to move to different social media because the platform that was providing them a solid fanbase and a source of income decided to ultimately say “sorry fuck you, our hands our tied now because we fucked up lol”. Nice priorities, tumblr.
Oh and P.S: I got followed by another porn blog like an hour ago. Great work guys. 😒
you will in fact continue to have acne past the age of twenty
you will eventually hit a point where you start to feel icky inside if you go too long without eating some sort of vegetables
depending on your current level of athleticism/physical activity as well as the kind of activities you did as a kid/teenager, your joints may start acting whack in your twenties, despite what everyone says about that not happening until middle age
eventually you will reach a point where you wonder how you were able to stay up until 3am nearly every night and be perfectly fine the next day (and this moment will come much younger than you expect)
it is much harder to meet new people after you’re done with school than sitcoms would have you believe
don’t let society tell you shit: it is perfectly acceptable to live with your parents after you graduate, there’s no need to be broke and miserable just so you can have some misguided attempt at independence straight out of school
